Austin Hensley, or Hensley Glass Art, started blowing glass at the age of nine. When he was seven years old, he was drawn in because of the way that glass moves. He was then taught by Zak Rowan at the Arizona Renaissance Festival.  As a teenager he learned the basics of pipe-making from Beto Glass and has been on his own ever since.

While Hensley’s favorite theme is generally space, he finds his inspiration in a variety of ways, such as family, nature and color/texture combinations. Although line work like reticellos have been a struggle, his beautiful stained glass technique inspired by his late uncle’s stained glass work has been a personal favorite.

From fumed poison bottles and intricate plague doctor rigs, to his spaceship in the 5mm show, you can expect to see something unique for everyone from this Clarkdale, AZ resident!
